Balthazar Rise, Father of Fire's End

Having finally dealt with the last of the Bloom, Balthazar takes matters into his own hands and founds a new organisation that should hopefully be able to help keep the peace. Funded by House Gabrielli who have been helping to rebuild the city and Caves, Balthazar is able to recruit a lot of like minded individuals not only from the Honest Coin but also the Caves and Noastria.

The Firefighters prove invaluable to Esharia in keeping their new found piece. While most of the remaining survivors are happy to work together there are plenty who have been trying to take advantage of the disruption while others find themselves unhappy with those in power and the reformation in general. From matters of diplomacy to riot prevention and assassination attempts there is no shortage of work. Balthazar works closely with Sikar Gabrielli who has set up an information network that can preempt many catastrophes. There are also fires that are a bit more literal. A handful of surviving Anarchists as well as a few who are against many of the changes taking place have been routinely trying to burn down buildings from time to time, not to mention the influx of burning clown effigies that have been popping up all over.

The Firefighters are popular for the most part and people are generally happy to part with a coin should the help be wanted in the first place. This stipulation bothers a few people but on the whole the Firefighters are paid handsomely and quickly become an established organisation that will last for centuries.

Balthazar also makes sure that the Firefighters are near Generva at all times but their service remains short as she does not remain in this world for long, drawn to the path of the Fleet. He lives a long and happy life, eventually settling down to a point. However retirement does not agree with him and he eventually dies an old man in the field opposed to the comfort of bed. He is commended for his services to Esharia and a statue is made in his honour. He is also highly celebrated in his homeland Noastria.

While peace was fundamentally a good thing, compared to the days of the Fleet most problems almost seemed trivial. Serious problems came up every few weeks but the people had taken to asking help for every little thing. Balthazar sighed to himself as he nodded to Moretti to let their next client walk in. The last woman had inquired after her missing cat, what would this one be? As the door opened three children stepped in. “Please, you have to help us. We think someone is trying to kill us for our fortune”
