Antonio Vestris, of the Ready Hand

“Has the ruckus up there calmed down yet?”
“Not as far as I can tell. Gods, Zotto’s a patient man, but when he snaps he snaps.
“What caused all this anyway? You’d think we were at war again.”
“Nothing that important. Word is, him and Antonio Vestris keep stepping on each other’s feet. It’s ludicrous. They just keep trying to do the same things and get in each other’s way.”
“Is that all? I’ll bet you ten silvers they’re working together before the week’s out.”

– A conversation between two Restorers in Yalcar Palace

“So far, my grand tour has been somewhat more reflective than I had anticipated – when I reached Allacasta I found myself unable to think of anything except granddad Antonio.

Send my love to everybody back home.

Your loving son,
Fortunato Vestris”

– A letter to Sorin Vestris

“The two key figures of this period were Alfieri and Antonio Vestris. Both were considerably active during the pretext to the war, visting Orrium, making negotiations, even having some involvement in the Queen’s kidnapping.

In this essay, I will argue that Antonio Vestris’ contributions were not just helpful but necessary to achieving peace. His work in increasing diplomatic relations between the two countries created the necessary good rapport in order to make peace possible when it came down to it. Otherwise, the pride of the Orrin generals in high command would have rendered such a thing impossible.

Firstly, his presence at the coronation of Empress Alba Leocadio…”
