The Fleet Departs

Arrayed above the ancient city of Hashat are a number of bioships; they are fewer than those who passed through the Breach, those nearly four years ago, but they have been joined by another. The sleek, almost deceptive form of The Beloved hangs effortlessly among them. Esharia's progeny is a child no longer, and now must take wing with its peers. The citizens of the city, and those who can see the Fleet in the sky watch with awe and no little apprehension. When the Fleet arrived they changed everything, but people can quickly become accustomed to anything: their departure will be as much of a change.

There is a hum of energy, that can be felt throughout the city, that quickly rises in pitch an intensity. It has begun. Before a fresh breach is torn through the Esharian firmament, however, one last message is broadcast from the Infinite. It can be heard across the Qeltan sea.

“Thank you for your time, and your hospitality. We must now leave, but we shall not forget the inhabitants of P39 - we hope that you shall not forget us. Maybe we shall see one another some day, unlikely as that may be: all things that can happen will, somewhere.

“Good Luck.”

With that, a cut appears in the sky and is thrown open as one would throw open a pair of curtains. Unearthly blue light floods through, and a dull pain is felt by all in the vicinity, but it is nothing compared to the previously two Breaches. One by one, the ships of the Fleet slip into the cut in space itself, and vanish from view. The Beloved is the last one to pass, taking one last look at its homeland. Then it too follows the others.

The Breach closes, and they are gone.
