Anatolia Carvelli, Technological Tyrant

ANATOLIA CARVELLI looks out the window at the volcanic hellscape she has created, a steely glint in her eye. She turns from the window to address the rest of the LEAGUE OF DEADLY EVIL.

ANATOLIA CARVELLI: Now, my minions, the time has come for the final stage of my master plan. The Exterminator nears completion. My agents have been hard at work sowing discord amongst the petty leaders of Esharia. Even now, the pitiful fools fight amongst themselves, blissfully unaware of the terror we are preparing. Loyal minions, you have played your parts perfectly. Sisa!

SISA, her deadly techno-tentacles writhing with excitement, steps forward excitedly, giggling maniacally

SISA: The obliterators are ready, Master! I have just disintegrated the di Greco heir personally!

An assortment of supervillains - THE SPINED AVENGER, COLOSSOCRUSHER, and TURAN KINALI, THE THREE-BRAINED MENACE - step forward

ANATOLIA CARVELLI: All humanity shall bow before us! Those pitiful heroes who ride to stop us will never escape my deadly landslide trap! They shall surrender to our might - for they shall have no choice! Nothing in the world can stop me now!

A chorus of BROKEN SHADES, their arms waggling in unison, bow down to ANATOLIA

BROKEN SHADES: HAIL THE PRIME EXECUTIVE

ANATOLIA CARVELLI: Hail me! In mere moments, the world shall be mine to rule - with an iron fist!

THE IRON FIST, ENTERING: Hey guys, sorry I'm late, there was lava all over the road.

Though Carvelli's stint as Grand Magnate was brief, it was certainly eventful. Though there were undoubtedly costs to her rule - the death toll does admittedly number in the thousands - the fact remains that she was responsible for some of the greatest technological developments in the world. Without her actions, the Heights would never have been able to secede, or to become the technological superpower it is today. So, painful though the question may be, we have to ask ourselves - was Anatolia Carvelli a force for good?

Extract from Visionary or Villain? Assessing Anatolia Carvelli by Messan Aidi

“We are all awakened now, Brother, and so we quite respect your choice. That said, it would help if we could understand it. The odds of a landslide are infinitesemally small-”

The other shade cuts him off, its arm twitching extensively.

“Not possible. The prospect of landslides simply evokes… unfortunate memories.”

A conversation between two awakened SHADEs, designations unknown.
