Generva Diite, The Lone Searcher

Generva worked with Camilla di Greco to refine the beliefs of the Arcana religion into what it would ultimately become. She wrote down the virtues of the faith, modelled after the important cultures of the Fleet, including the Sepulchre. She helped Talas with cementing the technological power of the Heights, and she continued with her own research. Eventually though, long after the fleet had departed, she and Talas outgrew their little world. They only had one of the Sepulchre II prototype dimension hopping sarcophagi, but they managed expand it so that the pair of them could use it to propel themselves to new worlds.

They moved off in a different direction from the Fleet, and never saw the other dimension hoppers again, because an infinite multiverse is a very large place indeed. They moved from world to world, going on wild and often zany adventures, and often spreading pandemonium in their wake. Eventually though they would always return to their machine which they dubbed the arcana research division interdimensional sarcophagus. On each new world they would seek out the sphere, not just because finding the sphere was necessary to jump to the next world, but also because they ultimately sought the creators of the spheres: the presumed origins of the silver tears. Their technology improved over the centuries, and their vessel for lack of a better word, continued to advance. They came close to death on many occasions, but through techno wizardry (and often actual wizardry) they managed to survive against all odds, piecing together a trail of bread crumbs guiding them to the origin of it all.

After countless centuries, they had followed the trail to a dead world with naught but ash and dust in the toxic wind. The sphere chamber on this world was at the surface and exposed, rather than buried. Tapping into the sphere’s archives they realised at long last the trail was nearly at an end. Just one more leap of faith and they would meet the source of it all.

Generva and Talas looked at one another as they climbed into their small ship.

Once more, one _last_ time, they dove into the breach.
